Q. Is Marinello an accredited school?

YES! Marinello Schools of Beauty is a private institution that is nationally accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts & Sciences (NACCAS). The schools are approved by the United States Department of Education (DOE) to participate in Title IV Financial Aid programs. In addition, Marinello schools are active members of the American Association of Cosmetology Schools (AACS). Marinello is approved to operate in Arizona by the Arizona Board of Cosmetology (ABOC). Q. What are the graduation requirements?

To get your Diploma or Certificate, you must complete the Program hours, successfully pass the didactic and practical examinations, complete the required number of practical and technical procedures and meet all financial obligations.

Q. Once I finish the program, will I get my license?

To receive your license, you must pass a licensing examination by the state board, and Marinello graduates are well prepared to take and pass the licensing exam. All throughout the course, we help prepare you for the exam. We'll provide "mock board exams" so you'll know what's expected on the day of your examination. Foreign students do not qualify for the State License unless they possess a valid Social Security Number.

Q. Tell me about the classes.  What can I expect?

Classes are diversified. You're not going to be stuck in a classroom all day. As the beauty industry is made up of "hands on" professions, we educate you through lectures, as well as live demonstrations, guest speakers, videos and practical application of salon procedures.

Q. When can I start school?

Marinello Schools have an open enrollment policy and programs are offered continuously. Classes start on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. Please consult with your campus "Registrar" regarding specific start dates.

Q. When do I begin to work on "real people"?

During the Level I training, you will start work on family and friends and as you continue to the next levels of training, you'll be working on both student salon guests in addition to the mannequins.

Q. Is there a minimum age to enroll?

Yes, you must be at least 17 years of age with a high school diploma or GED in order to begin training.

Q. Do I need to have a high school diploma?

No, but if you don't have one, you'll need a GED certificate or have documentation verifying completion of high school requirements or be able to demonstrate the ability to benefit from the training by passing the ATB (Ability To Benefit) test offered at the schools.

Q. Do you offer financial aid?

Yes! We do have financial aid available for those who qualify, both private and government programs. The government programs are based on need. The financial assistance programs are very flexible and can be tailored to your individual requirements. Q. Will you help me find a job once I get my license?
