Marinello Shines at The Makeup Show LA
Marinello Schools of Beauty made sure their presence was felt at The Makeup Show LA. The Marinello booth had several students showcasing nail art creations and providing Minx manicures exclusively to the on-site press. Students from various campuses also modeled extravagant circus-themed hair, makeup and body art looks created by their instructors and fellow students. The foot traffic and interest for Marinello's programs and talents were unstoppable!

Lomita Campus Backstage at Bridal Expo
On Saturday, March 3, the Lomita campus took their talents backstage to the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Long Beach for the Annual Bridal Expo event. Students had their work showcased as models rocked their creations down the runway. It was a great experience for the students as they were challenged to create a themed look for a gala-like event!

Zodiac Signs Come to Life at San Bernardino Campus
Leap day only comes once every four years so the at San Bernardino campus decided to celebrate by hosting a Zodiac Competition! Students were responsible for decorations and creating a Zodiac-themed look on their models that represented their sign. The judges were also dressed up as tarot card readers.

Layton and Reno Campuses Hold Speed Interviewing Event with Local Salons
On Wednesday, February 22, the Layton and Reno campuses held a speed interviewing event to help place numerous students in careers right after licensing. The event invites local salon managers and owners to the campus and have 5-7 minute interviews with Level 3 students. Last year, the campuses placed over 10 students in jobs after licensing. "Speed interviewing is a fantastic addition to the development of Marinello students, not only does it calm our nerves, it also gave us interaction with local salons and potential employers. I thoroughly enjoyed it", said Alexis White, Marinello-Reno student.

Henderson Student Awarded $1,000 Sport Clips Scholarship
Kristin Raterman, a Manicuring student of the Henderson campus, was awarded a $1,000 beauty scholarship for her compelling essay she submitted in to the Alice Madden Barton Cosmetology School Scholarship Program. How compelling was her essay? Well Sport Clips awards their scholarships for students studying cosmetology programs only, but Kristin’s essay was so great that they couldn’t resist! We are so proud of her!

Huntington Beach Campus Holds Their 1st Annual I Love Hair Olympics
On Valentine’s Day at the Huntington Beach campus, it was all love for hair and makeup. The campus held its 1st Annual I Love Hair Olympics where students were challenged to compete in the following categories: A-Line Hair Cut, Very Fast Foiling Blow Dry and Styling, 2-Man Perm Challenge, Voluptuous Victoria Secret Curls, Over the Top Makeup and My Up Do Valentines. All events were timed to best represent a true hair Olympics!

Layton Campus at “This Means War” Advanced Screening
On Wednesday, February 1, the Layton campus hosted a special advanced screening event for the film “This Means War” and had the opportunity to see the film before it opened in theaters on Valentine’s Day. The students showcased their talents in the theater; talk about theatrical makeup!

San Bernardino Campus’ Happy Feet
To get our students excited about pedicures and attendance, we promoted a photo shoot for students who had a 90% attendance rate or higher. If the students met the criteria, they were given a special workshop from an instructor on body art. Students were told a surprise body part would be chosen for the competition, and the winner would be announced at the end of the week. To help our students get over the fear and challenge of pedicures, we chose FEET!

Fresno Campus Grand Opening
On Thursday, January 12, Marinello Schools of Beauty celebrated the public grand opening of their 48th campus. Q97 radio couldn’t help but join in on the fun and broadcast the event as well as provide live entertainment. Campus tours, service specials, refreshments, raffles, guest speakers and special ribbon-cutting ceremony were also part of the agenda. Marinello continues to thrive in providing quality beauty education across the nation.
